4 Must-Sees at IFFS 2016

1) Design-centric Showcases
Get acquainted with up-and-coming designers through two dedicated showcases – Design STARS and Furniture Design Award showcase. Draw inspiration from these display pieces and kindle some new ideas when you’re there!

The Design STARS (Hall 4) collection features product debuts by 19 design talents from around the world, including France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, The Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the USA. Visit the showcase to get up close and personal with these rising stars.

In addition, check out the Furniture Design Award showcase (Hall 6) that features designs from finalists of the 2016 edition. Organised by the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC), the FDA serves as a professional platform for design enthusiasts from all over the world to unleash their creativity and and demonstrate their originality. The grand winner will be decided by a panel of prominent industry personalities and international designers a day before IFFS, and results will be announced at the IFFS Opening Ceremony on the morning of 10 March. 2) Creative Displays
Celebrate Inspiration and be wowed by two specially designed display centrepieces at IFFS. The magnificent Pyramid of Notion is a collaborative installation with the exhibitors that consists of a selection of new and unique pieces of furniture and accessories placed in a pyramid structure. With this installation, visitors can get a glimpse of the exciting, well-crafted designs put up by the international pool of exhibitors at IFFS.  Check out the Pyramid of Notion in Hall 1!

Also worth a mention, the Tree of Influence is a visual narrative enhanced by visual projection techniques, and illustrates the journey that raw materials take before it becomes a ‘product’. Expect to witness a material metamorphosis, with particular emphasis on wood, stone, water, and textiles. Come learn about this project at the Piazza Hall.

3) Gamification
IFFS will be introducing Gamification – an interactive ‘play area’ that consists of a shuffleboard table, ping-pong table, and a foosball table – set up in collaboration with District Eight Design. Take the opportunity to let your hair down between meetings or after lunch! Even if you decide to just stand by and watch, let the multi-functional nature of modern furniture inspire you. Head over to Gamification, located between Halls 2 and 3, and try your hand at these games when you’re at IFFS!

4)The Outdoor Boulevard
For the first time ever, IFFS is presenting The Outdoor Boulevard, an area dedicated to exhibitors with garden or outdoor offerings. Witness how design consultants use vertical gardening and greenery to make indoor spaces look like the outdoors. Or come enjoy an ‘al fresco’ experience in an indoor setting at the accompanying cafe, decked out with a collection of specially curated products from participating exhibitors.

Pop by The Outdoor Boulevard, located between Halls 5 and 6, for a truly ‘inside-out’ experience.
